Icelandic wool is unique in that it contains two different types of fiber. The inter layer, the thael, is a thin, insulating fiber, while the outer layer, the tog, is a long, water repelling layer. These two layers can be spun together to form a type of yarn known as lopi, unique to the Icelandic breed.
